Original Free Budapest Walking Tour:

An entertaining and insightful walk where you will see many of the interesting parts of both the Buda and Pest sides of the city, and visit some of the city’s architectural gems, bridges and statues, while at the same time learning some of the history and hearing about society in both past and present day Hungary. Covering some of the best sights Buda and Pest has to offer, this walking tour lets you discover and experience Budapest through the eyes of locals and bring to life the places that you’ve only heard about.

Morning Tour Start Time: 10:30 daily
Starting Point: Vörösmarty square (tér). Meeting point is at the lion fountain. (last stop of M1 yellow line).

Afternoon Tour Start Time: 14:30 daily
Starting Point: St. Stephen's Cathedral (Basilica) area. Meeting point is outside California Coffee Company. (closest metro stop "Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út" on M1 yellow line or Arany Janos utca on M3 blue line)

Tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours

Free Communist Walking Tour:

Following the Russian liberation at the end of World War II, Hungary became a part of the Soviet bloc, and remained as such for  more than 43 years. On the free communist walking tour you will learn about many of the key events, names and dates and hear about some little known, ’undercover’ facts and events, that took place in Budapest during the years of the communist regime.

You’ll get an oversight of daily life during this period including social conditions, human rights, the brainwashing processes, and some insider information about secret agents and the cult of the party bosses. On this tour you’ll visit some of the main 1956 uprising areas, the bronze 'bullet' memorial, the eternal flame, the secret entrance of a military bunker, the last Communist memorial in the inner city and other symbols of "Soviet friendship". You’ll also see some of the most important Communist relics that you would never find in any flea markets.
This tour is highly recommended for those interested in recent Hungarian history and conditions of daily life in Budapest under communist rule.

Free Jewish Quarter Walking Tour:

The Free Jewish Quarter tour will take you through Budapest’s Jewish quarter, the Budapest Ghetto during World War II, and now a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. This tour covers not only places of interest but also gives you a valuable insight into the religious traditions, cultural and scientific background and some history concerning the evolution of the Jewish population in Hungarian society.
Among others, you will see the Budapest Great Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe and second largest worldwide, the Budapest Ghetto cemetery and memorial garden, other places of Jewish worship and the hidden Jewish symbols in the neighborhood.

This tour also includes a visit to some authentic local pubs and main meeting points for party people in the area.
